The First Day of Spring

Welcome to my first posting. I have been wanting to do this for quite awhile... It seems appropriate that I would start today as it's officially the first day of Spring. I guess that's where the "Fortune" part comes in. We sort of celebrated Spring by accident by having a dinner of seared lamb chops, sugar snaps and broiled shiitake mushrooms with a miso and Vietnamese basil dressing. Frank and I also enjoyed a glass of our favorite Merlot at the moment, 2002 Clos Pegase. We liked it so much we bought a case. I guess this is why I have been wanting to start "blogging". I feel like I need to record some of the dishes I prepare, the places we eat and adventures in gardening as well as whatever life throws out at us. So I really do this for selfish reasons, as a record. I have never been one for keeping a diary, always liked the idea, but this is what "Flora Fauna Fortuna" will be, my personal musings. As a way to begin, here is an image from our regenerating garden. There will be more to come of our garden as well as possible home plans and of course some dabbling in cooking. I guess I will also throw some art stuff in, because that is what I do for a living, so it's bound to sneak in.

Enjoy!
